About

Hello! I’m Marlee, the blogger behind the Scenturion. I review perfumes that come from indie companies such as Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and Arcana.  I might occasionally review indie makeup as well.

I have a BA in history, and I plan to pursue an MA and PhD as well. In my spare time, I also enjoy baking, theatre, makeup, dance, singing, reading, and squealing over my dog.

DISCLAIMER: This blog is just for fun and I make no money off of it. Most of the perfumes and cosmetics are purchased by me personally; if a brand sends me scents to review, I make sure to note that in said review. My opinions are just that: opinions. In other words, what I think of a scent might be different from what you think of it and that’s totally fine! Negative reviews are also not a reflection of the brand itself, but rather a personal preference regarding the scent. I hope that this blog will be a good resource for people who are curious about certain scents, or indie perfumes in general.

  • My favorite perfume notes are vanilla, peach, lavender, musk of all kinds, cherry blossom, fougeres, honey, tea, rose, and woodsmoke.
  • My death notes are jasmine, cherry, chocolate, apple, most oudh scents, cardamom, cinnamon, and strong headshop incense (like nag champa).

What’s Up with the Blog Name?
I make puns a lot and this is a blog predominantly about perfume. I wanted my blog name to reflect that, so I chose Scenturion. It’s a play on the word Centurion, which means an ancient Roman commander.
