I’m interrupting your regularly scheduled perfume reviews for a nail polish review! Today I will be looking at ILNP’s Cygnus Loop polish, which I got as a Hanukkah gift. I’m such a sucker for duochromes and multi-chromes that I knew I had to get this shade. It retails for $12.50 US and you can buy it on ILNP’s website or their etsy page. All ILNP shades are cruelty free, and Toluene, Formaldehyde, and Dibutyl Phthalate free.
Cygnus Loop is part of ILNP’s Ultra Chrome line. As for the shade, “Cygnus Loop will shuffle through a bright purple, to orange, to yellow, and even a little bit of green.” Nearly all of those colors are visible in the bottle, something that the photo doesn’t do justice to.
The formula is pretty standard; not too thick, not too thin. Like Mega, it reminds me of the consistency of the Color Club polishes. It took two coats to get to full opacity and its not streaky at all.
Being a multichrome, this polish is a serious morpher. For the most part, it looks like an indigo polish with a gold or yellow shift. But depending on the light, it can look more blue or more pink or more purple. It’s really stunning!
Taken in natural light.
The polish wears well; it didn’t start to chip until about day 3 or 4 of my manicure. Overall, I’m very pleased with this polish. It’s super unique and pretty without being as in-your-face as the holo. Duochrome fans should check out ILNP’s polishes because there are a ton of these kinds of shades in their catalog!
